How to get to Stobreč – fast and easy from all directions

Stobreč is located just 7 kilometres from the centre of Split, making it one of the most accessible tourist destinations on the Dalmatian coast. Thanks to excellent transport connections, you can easily reach Stobreč by car, plane, bus, or sea, whether you are travelling from within Croatia or abroad.

Arrival by air

The nearest airport is Split Airport (Resnik), located about 25 kilometres from Stobreč. After landing, you can reach Stobreč by taxi, rental car, or private transfer in approximately 30–40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Arrival by car

Stobreč is exceptionally well connected to major road networks. The Adriatic Highway (D8) runs nearby and connects it with Split, Omiš, Makarska, and the rest of the Dalmatian coast. The A1 motorway is only 10–15 minutes away via the Dugopolje interchange, allowing fast access from all parts of Croatia.

Arrival by bus

Regular bus lines connect Split with surrounding towns, and local transport makes it easy to reach Stobreč from the city centre. Public transport is a practical and affordable option, especially during the summer tourist season.

Arrival by sea

As the main ferry and nautical hub of Dalmatia, Split offers numerous connections to the islands and other Adriatic destinations. After arriving at the Split port, Stobreč is easily reachable with a short drive along the coast.

From the airport

Split’s Saint Jerome Airport (SPU), is located just 25 km west of Stobreč. Here are the best ways to get to Stobrec from the airport:

  • Taxi or organized transfer – is the fastest and most comfortable option, with an average travel time of 30 minutes.
  • Rent-a-car ideal if you plan to explore Split, the surrounding area, or the islands.
  • Airport Shuttle bus the airport shuttle runs directly from the airport to Split’s Central Bus Station on the waterfront. From this station, it’s just a short walk to the City Market (Pazar station) and from there, take one of the local bus lines that run to Stobreč.
  • Local bus # 37 – you can also take the local #37 that runs between Trogir and Split and stops at the airport. Its last stop is Split’s local bus station at Sukoišanska Street from where it’s easy to transfer to local lines that go to Stobreč.

Arrival by bus

The Central Bus Station on the waterfront, located between Split’s train station and the ferry terminal, is the starting point/final destination of numerous local, intercity and international bus lines. 

From the Pazar bus station, located next to the City Market (about 500 m north of the Central Bus Station) you can take local bus line no. 25 directly to the centre of Stobreč. The ride takes 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic.

From the same station – Pazar – you can also take intercity lines no. 60, 27, 28 and 29 which stop next to Stobreč and continue south. The journey takes 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic, with an additional ten-minute walk from the disembarkation station to the centre of Stobreč.

Arrival by car

If you are traveling by car, Stobreč is well connected to the rest of Croatia and international destinations. The Adriatic Highway (D8) runs past Stobreč, connecting it to nearby towns in the east and west, and to the main traffic link of Croatia, the A1 Motorway (Zagreb–Split), which is only a 10-15 minute drive from Stobreč from the west (Dugopolje exit).

Parking

There are well-maintained parking lots available in the town itself, and accommodation facilities often offer their own parking.

Arrival by ferry

The nearest seaport to Stobreč is the Split Ferry Port, one of the busiest on the Adriatic. Island ferries and catamarans from Brač, Hvar, Vis, Šolta, Korčula, Lastovo, as well as from Dubrovnik and Ancona (Italy) all dock right here.

  • After arriving by sea,  Stobreč is easily accessible by taxi, local bus or private car.
