Gastronomy
Stobreč gastronomy is the very essence of the Mediterranean – simple, rich in flavours and deeply connected to the sea, olive growing and vineyards. Here in Stobreč food is experienced as an extension of tradition and everyday culture. Seafood delicacies such as fresh fish, octopus, mussels and black risotto are prepared with care and love, enriched with home-made olive oil, local herbs and wine from nearby vinyards.
In summer, the coastal promenade and the old town centre are filled with the aromas of local taverns and restaurants that celebrate true Mediterranean cuisine – light, nutritious and seasonal. In addition to fish specialities, you’ll find a wonderful array of homemade pastas, slow-cooked peka dishes (baked under the bell), fresh salads and vegetables from local gardens, as well as authentic pizzas, such as “black pizza” made with cuttlefish ink, which you can only find in Stobreč.
The atmosphere in Stobreč restaurants, taverns and pizzerias is always relaxed and friendly – where dining is never hurried, but is slowly savored and enjoyed, with a view of the sea, the sound of the waves and a glass of good wine.
The numerous cafés located along the beach are great places to take a break with a coffee, ice cream or a light snack.
All this makes Stobreč cuisine more than just delicious. It’s a combination of natural flavours, local ingredients and our long culinary tradition that few can resist.
