The Adriatic Sea from another perspective – the underwater world of the coast
When people think of the Adriatic, they usually imagine beaches and the sea surface. But beneath the surface lies a completely different world that most visitors never see.
The Adriatic is one of the cleanest seas in Europe, which allows for rich marine life. In shallow waters, you can often see schools of small fish, sea urchins, shells, and various algae forming a natural underwater ecosystem.
In deeper areas, especially around rocks and island zones, life becomes even more diverse. The underwater landscape of Dalmatia includes reefs, caves, and steep drop-offs that are home to many marine species.
Snorkeling and recreational diving are becoming increasingly popular because they allow people to experience this world easily, without special equipment or training.
The Adriatic thus becomes more than just a swimming sea—it becomes a space of exploration and quiet nature beneath the surface.
