Zadar

Zadar is one of the oldest cities on the Croatian coast. It is located 160 km north-west of Stobreč and is known for its blend of history and modern solutions in the old town area. The old town of Zadar is located on a peninsula, and among the most visited sights is certainly the Sea Organ – an installation on the Zadar waterfront, which creates melodic sounds using the waves, and the Greeting to the Sun, a solar installation in the immediate vicinity of the Sea Organ, which displays light effects at night.

The historic centre includes the 9th-century Church of St Donatus, the Cathedral of St Anastasia, the Roman Forum, and preserved parts of the medieval walls. The city is organized in such way that most of the sights can be visited on foot, which certainly makes sightseeing easier.

Zadar is the starting point for excursions to the Kornati National Park, an archipelago with more than 140 islands, popular among fans of sailing and breathtaking nature. Numerous beaches of various types in the surrounding area can be found there, suitable for families, recreation aficionados, and visitors looking for outdoor activities.
