Trogir

Excursion to Trogir – The UNESCO Jewel of Dalmatia

Trogir is one of the most beautiful historic towns on the Croatian coast, located about 30 km west of Stobreč. Its old town is situated on a small island and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.

Thanks to its exceptionally well-preserved urban layout, Trogir is often referred to as a "museum town," where ancient, medieval, and Renaissance architecture blend into a unique and harmonious whole.

The Old Town and St. Lawrence Cathedral

At the heart of Trogir stands St. Lawrence Cathedral, renowned for its magnificent Romanesque portal created by Master Radovan, as well as its impressive Gothic and Renaissance details.

The narrow stone streets, charming squares, and historic palaces create the atmosphere of an authentic Mediterranean town, while the city's defensive towers highlight its historical and cultural significance.

Kamerlengo Fortress and Cultural Events

One of Trogir’s most recognizable landmarks is Kamerlengo Fortress, a medieval stronghold that today serves as an impressive open-air venue for concerts, performances, and cultural events.

During the summer months, Trogir becomes a vibrant center of cultural and social life along the Dalmatian coast.

Nautical Tourism and Island Excursions

Trogir is also a popular destination for nautical tourism thanks to the nearby ACI Marina. From here, visitors can join boat trips to the surrounding islands, especially Drvenik Veli, known for its crystal-clear sea and unspoiled beaches.

Day Trip from Stobreč

Trogir is an ideal day trip from Stobreč and Split. Its unique combination of history, remarkable architecture, the Adriatic Sea, and Mediterranean charm makes it one of Dalmatia’s most attractive destinations.
