Šibenik

Šibenik, known as Krešimir's Town, is the first city on the Adriatic founded by Croats. It is located 90 km north-west of Stobreč and is one of the oldest cities in Dalmatia. It is known for its well-preserved old town and rich cultural heritage. The main symbol of the city is the Cathedral of St James, which has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2000 due to its unique Renaissance architecture and stone decorations.

The city is also known for its fortresses, especially the Fortress of St Michael, which offers a beautiful view of the city and its surrounding area. The fortress is also used to organize cultural events and concerts throughout the year.

In the immediate vicinity of Šibenik is the Krka National Park, known for its waterfalls, among which the Skradinski buk and Roški slap stand out. The park offers hiking and cycling trails, as well as boat rides on the Krka River. In the vicinity of the city there are beaches and bays suitable for swimming and kayaking.
