Plitvice Lakes – UNESCO Natural Jewel of Croatia
Plitvice Lakes National Park is located in central Croatia, about 200 km north of Stobreč. It is the most famous and most visited national park in Croatia and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.
The park is world-renowned for its unique system of 16 interconnected lakes that cascade into one another through a series of waterfalls and travertine barriers, creating one of the most impressive karst landscapes in Europe.
The Great Waterfall and Spectacular Scenery
The most famous attraction in Plitvice Lakes is the Great Waterfall, which stands at 78 meters and is the highest waterfall in Croatia. Alongside it, the entire park is filled with smaller waterfalls, rapids, and turquoise lakes that change appearance depending on the season.
Walking and Panoramic Trails
Visitors have access to numerous walking trails and wooden boardwalks that allow close-up exploration of the lakes and waterfalls.
