Plitvice Lakes National Park

Plitvice Lakes National Park is located in central Croatia, about 200 km north of Stobreč, and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The park includes 16 interconnected lakes with numerous waterfalls and rapids, set in a karst landscape. The most famous among them is the 78-meter-high Veliki slap.

The park offers various hiking trails that allow you to explore the lakes and waterfalls at your own pace. In addition to hiking, cycling trails are also available, as well as boat rides on the lakes.

Plitvice Lakes are home to a diverse flora and fauna, including rare plant and animal species such as bears, wolves and deer. The park is popular throughout the year for its natural diversity and opportunities for active vacation.
